Make a real difference in your community. Join us in rebuilding homes and transforming lives across Treasure Valley.
Our volunteer program will launch in Year 2, creating opportunities for community members to get hands-on experience while supporting professional remodeling projects.
Volunteer Build Days bring neighbors together to contribute to meaningful home restoration work. Community members will participate in non-specialized tasks that support our professional contractors while building deeper connections in the neighborhood.
Volunteering reduces project costs, allowing us to help more families. More importantly, it builds community engagement—neighbors working together to restore dignity in their own backyard.
Community service creates connection. Every volunteer builds relationships while making homes whole.
We have opportunities for everyone—whether you want hands-on work, professional expertise, or behind-the-scenes support.
Get your hands dirty. Join us on site for physical work—painting, demolition, cleanup, landscaping, and fence repair. No prior experience needed.
Licensed plumbers, electricians, roofers, HVAC technicians—donate your expertise. Professional skills ensure quality work and reduce project costs.
Contribute behind the scenes. Grant writing, marketing, event planning, data entry, social media, and more. Every task helps us reach more families.
Spread the word. Refer homeowners who need help, connect us with community partners, and help raise awareness about our mission in your network.
Tell us about yourself and how you'd like to contribute. We'll be in touch soon with volunteer opportunities.
Get answers to common questions about volunteering with The Remodel Project.
No! For Build Day Volunteers, we welcome anyone willing to learn. Tasks like painting, demolition, and cleanup require enthusiasm more than experience. For Skilled Trades roles, we're looking for licensed professionals who want to donate their expertise. Administrative and Ambassador roles depend on your interests and skills, but training is always provided.
Wear work clothes that you don't mind getting dirty—jeans, work pants, or sturdy shorts. Bring closed-toe shoes with good grip (no sandals or flip-flops). You may want to bring gloves, and we recommend sunscreen and a hat. We'll provide safety equipment like hard hats or safety glasses as needed.
Volunteers must be 18 years or older. However, we welcome 16-17 year olds who have a parent or legal guardian present during volunteer activities. For skilled trades roles, you must hold a valid professional license. Check with us about age requirements for specific roles.
Absolutely. Every volunteer participates in a safety orientation before their first project. We provide instruction on proper tool use, site safety, and best practices. Our professional team leads all work to ensure quality and safety. You'll never be left guessing—guidance is always available.
Volunteer as much as your schedule allows. Some volunteers commit to regular monthly shifts, while others volunteer occasionally based on their availability. We'll work with you to find a schedule that fits your life. Let us know your preferences during sign-up.
Volunteers working directly with families or in key roles may be subject to a background check. This protects the families we serve and ensures the integrity of our program. We'll explain the process clearly during onboarding.
